Man in wine cellar: Everybody around here cares about how their house looks, how their property is, people care and maintain everything they’ve spend their life savings building up.  I’ve lived here all my life here and I just love it - it couldn’t be any nicer.

Man in front of garden: I think of Beaver as Beaver is kind of a hub, its location in the center of the county is easily accessible by Route 60 and 65, we are here with our county courthouse right at the center of the town which has 8 parks, 4 in the center of town and 4 more at the outskirts of town.

Woman on porch with husband: As a writer I work in my home, and to work within a creative process, I need the right kind of environment.  I need not only peace and quiet, but I also need it to be a place of beauty and an encouraging atmosphere.  I feel like I have that here where I am.

Man in wine cellar: We have a great hospital here in town where I had open-heart surgery a few months ago – one of the best open heart systems outside of Cleveland.  We have some of the greatest doctors in the country for oncology, we have everything a major city would have right here in Beaver at our medical center. 

Man in front of garden: I think our western Pennsylvania region has a lot of different, diverse areas in which you can locate, we do have the massive growing areas that are closer, but this town would be small town Americana.  I don’t know where else you can allow your children, and I have 3, that I can allow my children to get on their bikes and I can release them in this town and I can feel safe with them riding here.   It’s big enough that they can be just out of reach but not in trouble.

Woman in back yard: I don’t have any fear here. I’m not afraid to go out at night.  I’m not afraid to leave my doors unlocked.  I just feel very safe here. 

Couple on couch: Many of the teachers that I had or at least were teaching when I grew up within the school system are still there.  In fact, my favorite grade of all was 2nd grade and my 2nd grade teacher is still teaching , and its one of the reasons I went into education to begin with.  My 7th grade teacher was Brittany’s 1st grade teacher – it was one of her favorite years as well. 

Couple with bikes along the river: the size of the schools – it’s a nice small school - but the test scores were comparable to some of the private schools that we were looking at.  They had opportunities for the children that to me were like you would find at a private school. 

Couple standing in front of home: You would never see broad streets like this in a city of 5,000 people.  This is a quintessentially an American Town.  From my perspective it’s a well managed town, it’s well maintained.  If you look around you, the infrastructure is well cared for   It has a very attractive, commercially viable downtown area and all of this at really a very reasonable tax rate.

Couple on park bench with dog: Our next door neighbor been in Beaver for their entire lives and they’re just wonderful to have next door.  And there’s this great kid who lives across the street who will take our dog for a walk whenever we ask him.  So it’s pretty nice where we are right now, its pretty convenient.  So it’s a great combination of people not nosing around us but taking a genuine interest in our lives in a positive way.

Teenage girl: Beaver has a lot more to do, my friends all live really close cause we all live in Beaver and we can ride our bikes and that’s another thing, I like the downtown, in Beaver we have that but in Florida we didn’t have anything like that.

Man on porch with wife: You don’t have to be automobile dependent, you can walk to the doctors office and what not, all from your home. 

Man in wine cellar: The access the Pittsburgh airport is very important.  Once you leave town, you’re no stop there in 15 minutes.  It’s a perfect location for business travelers and location to pick up your family without any traffic problems.  We’re on the quiet side of the airport with Pittsburgh on the busy side.

Couple standing in front of home: People care about the community that they live in.  I think there’s a strong sense of patriotism, Beaver is a patriotic, community oriented town.

Couple with bikes along the river: Beaver sits on a confluence of rivers so we have the Ohio and the Beaver Rivers so you can take a 2-mile jog and be near the water 90% of the time.

Woman in shop: I think the beauty of this town, that we have some many unique shops, we have restaurants where you can sit outside and enjoy a nice evening, you can go for a stroll.  You have the beauty of a small town.

Woman on porch with husband: I think Beaver is home to me because it’s comfortable – it’s causal without being sloppy, it’s friendly without being pushy, and its sincere without an overflow of sentimentality.  So those things make it very comfortable for me.
