ELIGIBILITY: The Agency works with individuals who are seeking help with credit and/or budgeting issues. Most consumers seeking service have some type of problem with unsecured credit accounts particularly MasterCard and Visa accounts, retail accounts, and finance company loans.

FEES: Counseling services are free. The Agency asks for a monthly cost reimbursement from consumers utilizing its Debt Management Program.

SERVICES: The Agency provides counseling and education classes regarding budgeting and the wise use of credit. When appropriate, the Agency negotiates payment arrangements with unsecured creditors for consumers who are delinquent with their creditor accounts. In turn, many creditors offer concessions to their customers such as stopping late fees, ending collection activity, and reducing the annual interest rate.

The Agency also provides housing counseling for consumers applying to the Homeowner's Emergency Mortgage Assistance
