Adult Literacy Action (ALA) Penn State Beaver provides free adult basic education and family literacy. Adult education classes focus on reading, writing, math, GED preparation, job readiness, computer-assisted learning, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Developing these skills is critical to individual self-sufficiency. Family Literacy works with families to help parents realize their role as their children’s first and most important teacher. Parents work on both adult education and literacy-based parenting classes so they are better prepared to help their children succeed in school. ALA learning centers are conveniently located throughout Beaver County.
